Expert step- followup of the EGEA study

During the expert step performed in collaboration with Michel Hery (INRS) and Dick Heederik (Utrecht, The netherlands) we notice that it is more informative to ask for tasks and not only job title. We underlined also the importance in the expert step (1) to have at least two experts who performed the exposure assessment independently and (2) to take the final decision by consensus for inconsistent exposure evaluations.

SOC-91 JEM added

SOC-91 Version of the Asthma-specific Job Exposure Matrix:
A new version of the asthma-specific job exposure matrix (JEM) has been created for a different set of job codes. This new version of the JEM uses the Standard Occupational Classification 1991 system (SOC-91) for the ‘job’ axis, in contrast to the original JEM which uses the ILO International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO-88). There are no cross-walks available for transferring between the ISCO-88 and the SOC-91 job codes, so the revised SOC-91 JEM has been created by matching each SOC-91 job code to one or more ISCO-88 job codes based on the job titles and descriptions. The SOC-91 JEM follows the same criteria as the original ISCO-88 JEM, with a few changes, as a result of job code matching. If the SOC-91 JEM version is requested when filling out the brief form on the Download Matrix Files” page, an instructions document will be provided with the SOC-91 version of the JEM. The SOC-91 job codes can be obtained from Statistics Canada.
