Introduction

This website describes the asthma job exposure matrix (JEM), which allow to estimate occupational exposure to specific asthmagen agents (nuisances at risk for asthma) for each ISCO88 job code code and for each SOC-91. The asthma JEM can be downloaded freely by researchers. Therefore, we collect names, e-mail and affiliations of those people who download the matrix files.

The tool is a job exposure matrix, with an embedded semi-expert re-evaluation tool taking into account job description and tasks. All steps are described on the website. To optimize the use of the tool, we have added a publication list (may be not exhaustive) to the website. In order to build a community of expertise in using this tool, if you use the matrix in generating a publication, we would appreciate notification .

The asthma JEM has been developed during a sabbatical stay of Susan Kennedy at Villejuif (1998-1999). A publication describing the development of the tool and its first application in the EGEA study is available here (pdf format).
